Meet the Priest-in-Charge
Rev. Charles “Chuck” Wynder, Jr.
The Rev. Charles “Chuck” Wynder, Jr. serves as Priest-in-Charge of Holy Comforter. He was ordained to the transitional diaconate on June 4, 2016 and was ordained priest on December 11, 2016. A Truman Scholar and native of Hampton, Virginia, he is a graduate of Syracuse University and University of Michigan Law School. Chuck earned his Master of Divinity from the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, MA. His thesis was entitled, “Revisioning the Afro-Anglican Church: Discernment, Leadership & Praxis.” Chuck continues to serve on the staff of the Presiding Bishop of The Episcopal Church as the Program Staff Officer for Social Justice & Engagement. Chuck is married to Bethany Dickerson Wynder. Bethany works at Beauvoir The National Cathedral Elementary School. Together, they are raising their son, Charles III “Chase” in the District of Columbia.
